Colores de la tierra 2
Colores de la tierra 2
The color of natural dyes mellow over time but they preserve their true colors far better than synthetic dyes. The introduction of synthetic dyes made coloring materials for textiles faster, and cheaper. However, as generations learn more about their cultural history, they take interest in preserving the traditions of the past.
Keeping in mind health and environmental impacts, techniques for dyeing and printing with natural dyestuffs are being preserved for use by home and craft dyers. Like in Oaxaca, there are many places around the world that have kept the traditions which they now can teach and pass on to the next generations wishing to keep them alive.
